COVID Patient & Visitor Information

During the current outbreak of the respiratory illness COVID-19, Virginia Mason’s Infection Prevention team is committed to maintaining a safe environment for patients, their families and visitors. Our health system is working closely with state and local health authorities to ensure measures are in place for preventing community spread of the infection.

To ensure our facilities are safe places, face coverings must be worn at all times. We are still seeing high community transmission of COVID-19 across King County and a moderate number of hospitalized patients that are often younger. Since we are still not out of a high-risk period, we will continue to require masking and physical distancing while on our campuses for team members and patients.

We have updated our clinic and hospital visitation guidelines.

Appointments

  • Virtual Care — We are pleased to now offer virtual appointment options for our patients. Virtual care appointments use video chat technology, similar to Skype or FaceTime, that allow for a flexible location for you and your provider. Make an appointment by calling (206) 223-6881 or scheduling online at MyVirginiaMason.
     
  • In-Clinic Care — We continue to offer regular in-clinic appointments. Patients are required to don masks upon entrance to the facility, and will be screened for COVID-related symptoms at check in.
     
  • For patients with COVID-related symptoms, please call so we can direct you to the proper care and treatment.

COVID-19 Symptoms

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Public Health recommends keeping a social distance from others and practicing good hygiene — continuous hand washing and avoiding touching your face.
